Bhai Dooj Date

In 2022 the Bhai Dooj will be celebrated on the 26th of October. It is two days following Diwali and three days after the Dhanteras celebration. Bhai Dooj falls on Wednesday this year. 1. Bhai Dooj

Most northern parts of India celebrate this festival under the name of Bhai Dooj. This is the last day to celebrate the 5-day Diwali festival, which is celebrated on the second lunar date that falls on Shukla Paksha.

2. Bhai Phonta 

If you’re from Bengal, You may be familiar with the name Bhai Phonta rather than Bhai Dooj. This festival is observed after Durga Puja across the country. Sisters can perform puja and honor their brothers, while brothers present gifts to sisters.

3. Bhai Teeka

Bhai Teeka can be described as a unique festival that is celebrated in Nepal. It is celebrated on the 5th day of Diwali (known in Nepal as Tihar Nepal). The day is when the sisters pray to Lord Yamaraj to safeguard their brothers to keep them alive and happy for an extended period. The sisters place an amaranth garland around the brothers and place the tikka on their foreheads.

4. Bhai Bij 

In some parts of Haryana, Gujarat, Goa, Gujarat, and Haryana, the festival of Bhai Bij is observed. This day is when siblings and brothers get together to exchange presents. Most often, elaborate meals are prepared, and the whole day is spent as an entire family.

5. Bhau-Bij

Bhaubeej is celebrated two days following Diwali as a part of the Diwali celebration. This is a chance to celebrate the bond between siblings and brothers. Bhaubeej is the name given to Maharashtrians, who are celebrated throughout India with regional variations.
