It is believed that the Airport Metro line was initially planned to be operational all hours of the day since New Delhi is a busy airport. The schedule of flights is operational 24 hours a day. But, as of now, the Airport metro’s operating hours begin at 03:45 Am early in the day and 11:40 in the evening.

The Airport metro provides an efficient and economical option to get to the Indira Gandhi International Airport from the New Delhi metro station. Airport Metro fares are affordable. Airport Metro fares are economical and cost Rs 60 to journey to and from New Delhi Metro Station to IGI Airport or Dwarka Sector 21.
For commuters who frequent their routes throughout the month, the DMRC offers the opportunity to purchase the monthly pass. A pass that covers 30 trips each month costs around 1600, while a pass that includes 45 trips is priced at Rs 2000. The cost is reduced to Rs 53 or Rs 44, respectively. It is a great saving for commuters who frequently travel. Customers can use their Delhi Metro smart card on the Airport express line.
The passes are added to the additional 10 percent amount that is included on the smart cards. In simple terms, the airport metro offers the cheapest way to get to Airport from the New Delhi metro station.
